When seniors are ready to make the transition from their current home into an apartment or retirement residence, they are often overwhelmed by everything that needs to be taken care of in order to make the move possible.


Making decisions on how to downsize a lifetime of precious belongings into a smaller residence can be very challenging for them & can stir up a lot of memories and emotions. Just knowing where to begin can be a daunting task.

Option 1

   

With a home to sell, prior to relocating:

  • We’ll visit you at your home to discuss your needs, options & our fees
  • For a small fee, we’ll also conduct and prepare a Certified Staging Consultation Report
  • Provide referrals to contractors and realtors as needed
  • Prepare the home for market prior to listing (update/renovate if necessary)
  • Prepare floor plan for new residence to ensure you only bring the furnishings suited to your new place
  • Sort and disburse belongings (auction, garage sale, donations, antique sales, consignment shops, recyclables, etc)
  • Provide packing materials to client at our cost
  • Pack and store items to be taken to the new residence that aren’t needed prior to the move (to de-clutter)
  • Stage the home (refer to Home Staging Services section)
  • Provide rental furniture and accessories as needed (for a fee)
  • Organize movers, moving schedule, reserve elevators
  • Coordinate cleaning and disposal services
  • Calls to transfer/cancel utilities
  • Complete change of address notifications
  • Purchase any necessary items for the new residence (ex: smaller furniture, lighting, health & safety aides, storage containers, toiletries, etc)
  • We’ll oversee that moving day runs smoothly
  • We’ll unpack, set up and organize the essentials on moving day; we’ll return to complete the move the following day or at your convenience
  • Recycle/dispose of packing materials

    No Home To Sell

    Moving From One Residence To Another:

  • Begins with a complementary consultation to discuss your needs, options & fees
  • We’ll discuss with the client which items they’d like to move along with them and we’ll prepare a floor plan of their new residence to ensure that the items will fit into the layout
  • Proceed to sell, donate, auction, or recycle remaining items
  • Provide packing materials to client at our cost
  • Organize movers, moving schedule, reserve elevators (if necessary)
  • Coordinate cleaning and disposal services
  • Arrange for cancellation/transfer of utilities
  • Complete change of address notifications
  • Purchase any necessary items for the new residence (smaller furniture, lighting, health & safety aides, storage containers, toiletries, etc)
  • Oversee that moving day runs smoothly
  • We’ll unpack, setup and organize the essentials on moving day; we’ll return the following day to complete the move, or at your convenience
